Welcome to the Forrester Trusts web site, home of both the Donald Forrester Trust and the Gwyneth Forrester Trust.
Both Trusts make annual grants to UK registered charities and the purpose of this site is to assist those charities who wish to apply for such grants whilst, at the same time, keeping our administration costs to a minimum.
Further information regarding the individual Trusts can be found by clicking on the appropriate tab. However, a brief outline of the grants available is as follows;-
Grants are made twice yearly in March and October. For the year ended 31st March 2019 grants totalled £332,500. Grants are made to a wide range of charities and can vary in amount but are usually in the sum of £5,000. We have recently adopted a policy of making grants equal to 3.75% of our net assets at the latest year end.

Grants fall into three categories:
1. Annual funding support for three years
2. A theme for the year
3. Disaster relief

The Grant Process
Historically both Trusts have had a policy of not accepting unsolicited grant applications, enabling them to provide continuing support to a relatively select number of organisations. However, the Trustees have now decided to encourage applications from a wider range of charities and will look favourably on smaller organisations where we feel our funding will provide vital support to the work of volunteers. Likewise we will look positively on organisations where both overheads and fund raising costs are kept to a minimum.

Please note that given the large number of applications we receive we are unable to either enter into correspondence regarding applications or notify those organisations which have not been successful in their applications. Details of donations made will be published both in the annual accounts and on this site.
